Staubsauger     Kombirana Zürich

In 1996 I made a project at the MACBA in Barcelona. I lived in the city for a month and made two works. While I was there I met Nadia Schneider the young assistant to Pipilotti Rist. We struck up a friendship and Nadia invited me to make a project in Zürich in an artist/ curator run space called Kombirani.

What was rapidly becoming my process, the show dates, opening view and title was announced. I came over a week in advance developed the work on sight.

I installed the contents of eight hovers onto the wall on one side of the gallery and six hovers on the opposite wall. During the opening I organised with the men of the group to make an announced and unexplained performance. Staubsauger means dust sucker.
